School History

Jalaram Academy as an institution of higher education was the brain child of the Trustees of Gujarati Girls School started in 1991. The main purpose for the establishment of this institution was to provide education of international standard to the community right here in Kisumu, that is, the London International Certificate of Secondary Education Ordinary Level (Year 11) as well as Advanced Level (Year 12 & 13).

Later, the community realized that a primary section following the British Curriculum System should be provided to precede the secondary syllabus as a foundation for the needs of International Certificate. Thus the Preparatory School opened its doors in the year 2000 with 6 pupils and to date it has grown to 225 pupils.

The school has had a rather mind boggling growth. The latest achievement is the nursery school run on the Montessori programme which now has 130 children. This is to offer parents a one-stop shop where children could be all on the same complex pursing and International Education right here in Kisumu.
